Bonnie Rose Benson
Bonnie was born after a normal pregnancy, but as she grew it became clear she was developing differently. After months of testing, hospital stays and seizures, Bonnie was diagnosed with the ultra-rare genetic condition EEF1A2. Her journey has brought many challenges, therapies and unknowns, but it has also brought incredible love, strength and perspective to our family. Bonnie is full of personality, joy and determination, and she continues to surprise us in her own beautiful way. She has taught us to celebrate every milestone, embrace life at a different pace, and appreciate the power of community, resilience and unconditional love.I'm fundraising for Bear Cottage!
This July, Bonnie is proudly taking part in Superhero Week to help raise vital funds for Bear Cottage, currently NSW’s only children’s hospice, celebrating 25 years of supporting children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
The team at Bear Cottage provides respite, support, and end-of-life care completely free for families, but they can only continue this incredible work through the generosity of the community.
Like every superhero, we’ve set ourselves a big goal, and we would be so grateful to have you by our side. Any donation, no matter how small, will help ensure Bear Cottage can continue creating precious moments and providing comfort for families who need it most.
On a personal note, Bear Cottage has been so much more than a service to us. It has given us time to breathe, and moments to reset whilst feeling safe Bonnie is not only cared for, but having a great time!
